Leather Lust

I don't believe that a girl can ever have too many coats or jackets, as every one defines a different style. Leather jackets are timeless and this Burberry inspired one can be found in Forever 21 for as little as £32.75, an absolute steal. It is perfect to toughen up a feminine outfit.

White leather for Winter

Zara white leather biker jacket, £239

This gorgeous jacket from Zara is not what you'd stereo-typically expect from a leather jacket, however this little beauty could just bring white leather back for good! Clean lines, zip details and beautiful leather make this a must have. Most definitely on my Christmas wish list.

Topshop's take on Galactic glamour

Galaxy glamour

This season fashion is going back to the future and taking a giant leap for fash-kind. As seen on the catwalks at LFW A/W’12 for Jeffrey Campbell and Christopher Kane, galactic glamour with a techno twist is a trend not to be missed out on.

From space print leggings, to sci-fi sweaters, sheer sparkling layering, metallic skirts, cosmic skinny jeans and bomber jackets. Think high shine, metallic, cosmic prints and futuristic for a look that’s out of this world!

Topshop have recently launched a new range called Galactica which is great to pick up space inspired items and galaxy prints, however many other high street stores also stock the trend; River Island , Urban Outfitters, ASOS and Republic to name a few. If you still have the majority of your student loan at your disposal then the Christopher Kane galaxy print dresses or Jeffrey Campbell “Starry Nite” platform shoes are an investment guaranteed to make every other fashionista green with envy.

Space themed jewellery with futuristic asymmetry, abstract heel boots, and envelope style clutches are the way to accessorise and glittering fingertips, metallic eyes and sleek hair complete the look - to infinity and beyond! This blog gives you a great tip on how to wear galaxy prints. http://poppywolff.com/2012/09/how-to-wear-galaxy-prints.html May the fashion force be with you.

LFW

I went to London fashion week with my friend to see the Francesca Marotta “Amore della mia vita” show which I was lucky enough to be given tickets for. It showcased a collection based on the concept of mourning; consisting of a lot of black lace, leather, wool and silk fabrics juxtaposed with neon jewellery by Milko Boyarov. Afterwards, despite not having tickets for any other shows that afternoon I decided to head over to Somerset House regardless, in the hope of getting some on the door. When we arrived it was immediately apparent that security was very high and they were checking tickets as people went in. However, possessed with what can only be described as ‘fashion fever’ I decided to just strut past the bouncers and security, as we’d seen celebrities doing, and hope that they didn’t challenge me. Despite my delusions of grandeur it actually worked and we somehow managed to get into the screening of Ada Zanditon’s A/W’12 collection, even though we were the only ones without passes! Spurred on by our success, I decided to try and sneak into the Courtyard show space, where the PPQ show was taking place. We waited until the bouncer was distracted with someone else and slipped past. Very aware that we were the only people without VIP passes we tried our best to act as though we were meant to be there, and casually mingled with Jameela Jamil, Pandemonia, Lisa Snowdon, Pixie Lott and Jo Wood! Unfortunately we couldn’t actually get in to see the PPQ catwalk as the queue was ridiculously long and they were double checking everyone’s tickets, but by hanging around the backstage door we certainly still managed to experience the atmosphere and saw the models wheeling out the ‘Rule’ bikes, the posh bike brand rule that PPQ has done a collaboration with.

“My Fashion Inspiration” is a blog by Lene who lives in Amsterdam. It can be differentiated from other blogs as it gives practical information about Fashion. Rather than solely focusing on catwalk shows it offers advice on what is more affordable and currently available on the high street. There are shopping links to most items featured or to alternative items if they’re no longer available. The blog also contains videos which offer the chance to fully appreciate an outfit.

Victoria Beckham

Homage to Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham’s SS12 collection was first unveiled at NYFW in September last year. With an urban sports luxe edge, it showcased a collection of colour blocking, expertly cut body cons adored by the A-list, and a mix of bright pop colours and a soft palette of greys and lavender. Featuring short shift dresses, satin coats and even a flat sandal (which was a surprise as Victoria is rarely seen in anything other than heels), the collection received glowing reviews, seeing Beckham finally become accepted by the Fashion elite after several failed attempts. Celebrities spotted wearing the collection so far include Sonam Kapoor and Sandra Bullock. Victoria Beckham may be an ex Spice Girl and WAG, but she demands admiration for her perseverance to make it into the industry, despite harsh criticism. “I’m very aware of people’s preconceptions,” Beckham said earlier this month in a question-and-answer session at WWD’s Apparel and Retail CEO Summit in New York. “But the product spoke for itself…. When I was starting out I remember Marc Jacobs saying, ‘As long as the quality is great, then people can say it’s not their personal taste, but they can’t say that it's rubbish.’” Victoria Beckham also recently beat Stella McCartney, Tom Ford and Burberry to win Designer Brand of the Year at the 2011 British Fashion Awards, solidifying her place within the fashion establishment. Beckham’s production statistics also speak for themselves; for her first collection, she produced 400 dresses and had nine retail partners internationally. Now Beckham makes 5,000 pieces to be sold in over 300 stores worldwide. Her designs have also been compared to Roland Mouret's lauded sheath dresses and to Dolce & Gabbana. There is no doubt that Victoria Beckham has now succeeded in the fashion world... Watch out Karl Lagerfeld!
